I am a potter working in North Shropshire. I am not sure after 20 years whether I make my creatures or whether they make me.

I draw inspiration from animals, but my animals are whimsical characters, dancing through life without a care in the world. They are modelled individually, although I do work in small batches, each one relates to the others. Some are brothers and sisters, some friends, others maybe not so much. I’m pleased if they engage and raise a smile, even better if they need to go home with someone!

Opening the kiln and seeing them all come to life is still wonderful and has a magic all of its own.
